Know your clients
The golden rule of marketing is… if you start selling everyone you end up selling no one!
To save yourself from this ordeal, try to answer the following questions:
Who are your clients?
What age group, gender and demographics do they belong to?
What are their likes and dislikes?
What are their habits and routines?
Create as detailed an avatar of your ideal customer as you can (add a picture too if you like!)
This exercise will help you know your clients as a real person and not just an idea in your mind.
And trust me you’ll be inspired to create better products once you know your clients well.
What are their pain points?
Think about this: Why would someone buy from you in the first place?
It’s simple- Because you are solving their problem.
So, List down the problems / pain points of your clients
-Dry skin, frizzy hair, wrinkles, sensitive skin, acne breakout… You get the idea.
This way you’ll know what solution will appeal to your ideal client
What you should include in your formula and
How can you market that product to your ideal client and convince them that your product can solve their problem.
Add “the” unique factor
This is the golden egg for any business! Add a unique factor to your brand or USP (unique selling proposition) as they say.
Come up with creative ideas, do some out of the box thinking… Research latest trends for some inspiration and ideas
This will help you rise above your competitors and stand out in the eyes of the clients.
Pro tip: Do remember to journal your ideas, so even if you can’t implement them now, they might come handy in the future.
Get their feedback
Feedback is the key to growing your business. Take constant reviews from your buyers.
What worked for them, what didn’t? What are their complaints that you can resolve? Is there anything that needs an urgent fix that is costing you potential buyers? Record this data and analyze it monthly.
Pro tip- research your competitor’s feedback too (through reviews, social media comments)
In this way you can implement what’s working for them and take lessons for what doesn’t.
